How should I prepare for my child's private GP consultation?
To prepare for your child's Private GP consultation
  • Bring a list of their current medications and any relevant medical history.
  • Be ready to discuss their health concerns, including symptoms, lifestyle factors, and medical history.
  • Bring a photo ID to the first appointment.
Important note

The person bringing the child must have parental rights. For further information please see the relevant FAQs.

Do I need to be referred by my NHS GP to use your services?

No, you can book a consultation directly with us.

Can somebody else bring my child to the appointment?

To ensure proper medical care, please remember that it's best if parents accompany their child. However, if you cannot bring your child, we kindly request that the person with parental rights completes a parental consent form. This ensures your child receives the necessary consultation and treatment.

Parental Rights for Medical Consultation & Treatment

If the parents are unmarried, then the mother's consent is required. However, if they are married, then the father can give consent.

Do I need to register with Wells to use your service?

There is no registration as such, just book an Extended GP Consultation and bring photo ID with you to your first appointment.

How long will my consultation last?

Appointments are typically 20 minutes long, but this can vary depending on the nature of the consultation. For new patients wanting to discuss their medical history in detail, have extensive past medical problems or complex health concerns, we recommend a 40-minute appointment.

Will my NHS GP be informed of my treatment?

We will update your NHS GP on your progress if required.

Can I see a GP on the same day?

Same-day appointments are available, subject to availability. The best way to secure an appointment is to book via our website.

Can I receive same-day referrals during a Private GP consultation?

We understand the importance of timely referrals and strive to provide same-day referrals whenever possible.
